GI Buddy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GI Buddy handles information. GI Buddy is developed by Gesha LLC and/or Iona McCarten ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"). GI Buddy is designed as a private personal health journal for gastrointestinal wellness tracking.
Information You Enter
GI Buddy may let you enter symptoms, stool logs, meals, medications, supplements, daily check-ins, notes, photos, medical records, and related health information. By default, information you enter is stored locally on your device.
Local Storage
GI Buddy is built to keep your journal data on your device by default. We do not access your local journal entries, and we do not sell your personal information. If you delete the app or erase app data, locally stored information may be permanently deleted unless your device backup preserves it.
Optional Cloud Features
If GI Buddy offers optional cloud or AI-assisted features, such as analyzing a selected food photo or generating an overview from selected entries, the information you choose to submit may be sent to the applicable service provider for that feature. Do not use optional cloud features with information you do not want processed outside your device.
Photos and Files
If you attach photos or files, those items are used to create and manage your entries and records. The app may request camera or photo-library permission only when you choose to take or attach a photo.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Premium purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore purchases, and manage premium entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment card details, Apple ID password, or billing information.
Analytics, Ads, and Tracking
GI Buddy is intended to avoid third-party advertising and cross-app tracking. If analytics or diagnostic services are added later, this policy should be updated before release to describe them.
Data Export and Sharing
If you export a report, share an entry, or send information to another person or service, you control that sharing. After information leaves GI Buddy, the recipient's own privacy practices may apply.
Children's Privacy
GI Buddy is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.
Medical Privacy Notice
GI Buddy is a personal wellness journal and is not a health care provider, insurance plan, or medical records system. Information stored in the app may not be protected by health privacy laws that apply to doctors, hospitals, or insurers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of GI Buddy after an update means you accept the updated policy.
