Terms of Use

Last updated: July 13, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of GI Buddy. GI Buddy is developed by Gesha LLC and/or Iona McCarten ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"). By using GI Buddy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What GI Buddy Is

GI Buddy is a personal health and gastrointestinal wellness journal. It can help you log symptoms, stool, meals, medications, daily check-ins, notes, records, photos, and related information for your own reference.

Not Medical Advice

GI Buddy does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. Insights, summaries, trends, or AI-assisted outputs are informational only and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always consult a qualified health care professional before making medical decisions or changing treatment.

Emergency Situations

Do not use GI Buddy for emergencies. If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or seek immediate medical attention.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the information you enter, the decisions you make, and how you use any summaries, exports, or observations from the app. You are also responsible for maintaining device security and backups.

Premium Access

GI Buddy may offer premium access through weekly or annual auto-renewable subscriptions and/or a lifetime one-time purchase. Prices are shown in the App Store before purchase and may vary by country, currency, taxes, or Apple pricing rules.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse GI Buddy, attempt to reverse engineer the app, interfere with its operation, use it unlawfully, or upload content that infringes another person's rights.

Data and Exports

GI Buddy may allow you to export or share data. You are responsible for reviewing exported information before sharing it with clinicians, caregivers, family members, or other recipients.

Intellectual Property

GI Buddy, including its design, software, text, and other app materials, is owned by the Developer or its licensors. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

Disclaimer

GI Buddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every health situation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for health decisions, data loss, or other losses arising from use of GI Buddy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of GI Buddy after an update means you accept the updated terms.
